Mrs. Ellena O'Brien MRS. Ellena O'Brien, of Waverley, died in a Mudgee private hospital on Sunday afternoon, after a short illness, at the age of 50. The late Mrs. O'Brien came to Rylstone a few weeks ago for the funeral of her brother. From Rylstone she came on to Mudgee to stay with her sister, Mrs. J. Caughey, of Perry Street, becoming suddenly ill a few days prior to her death. She was born in the Rylstone district, and had lived both there and in Mudgee. A husband and two children, all of Sydney, survive, and to them the "Guardian" extends its deepest sympathy. The funeral took place on Monday in the Rylstone Cemetery, the rites at the graveside being conducted by Rev. Father Healey, of Kandos, after a service had been conducted in the Mudgee Roman Catholic Church by Rev. Father O'Byrne. Funeral arrangements were in the hands of Messrs. J. C. Swords and Son (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 27 June 1935, page 1).
