Mr Robert Potts, jun, acted as best man, and Miss Ivy Potts was bridesmaid (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 10 October 1907, page 12).

JAMES CAUGHEY The death occurred on Friday night of James Caughey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sid Caughey, of Lawson's Creek, Mudgee, aged ten years and eight months. The cause of death was meningitis. The remains were interred in the Presbyterian portion of the general cemetery yesterday afternoon. The Rev. S. A. Faulkner officiated at the grave-side. Mr. J. C. Swords conducted the funeral, which was very largely attended (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Monday 20 September 1920, page 7).

WEDDING CAUGHEY - HOBSON A quiet wedding was celebrated on Saturday afternoon last at the Bathurst Cathedral by the Rev. Dean Holmes. The contracting parties being Allan, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Hobson, of Public School, Tarana, and Lillian, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Caughey, of ''Park View,'' George Street, Bathurst. The bride, who was dressed in a powder blue marocain frock and blue hat and carried a sheaf of peach blossom and sweet peas, entered the church on the arm of her father and was attended by Mrs. Norman Payne as matron of honor and who wore a blue and white marocain frock and white hat and carried a bouquet of sweet peas and maiden hair fern. Mr. Norman Payne acted as best man. As the bridal party left the church Mendelsohnn's ''Wedding March'' was played on the Cathedral organ. There was a quiet reception at "Park View'' afterwards, where the guests were received by Mr. and Mrs. Caughey. The future home of Mr. and Mrs. Hobson will be in Bathurst (National Advocate, Thursday 27 September 1934, page 1).

DEATH Mr. Sidney Caughey THE death of Mr Sidney Caughey (61) formerly of Lawson's Creek, occurred at Bathurst yesterday. The late Mr Caughey was born at Lawson's Creek, and had spent the greater part of his life there. He had, however, been living in Bathurst during the past few years. He is survived by a widow and grown up family. The funeral will be held to the Presbyterian portion of the Mudgee Cemetery to-morrow, arrangements being in the hands of Messrs J. C. Swords and Son (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Monday 10 May 1937, page 4).

    1. Alexander Sydney T “Alex” Caughey, son of Sydney Caughey and Edith Mary Potts, was born in 1908 and died on August 3, 1998 at the age of 90. He married Clarice Lillian Wakefield, daughter of Arthur Bodycot Wakefield and Mabel Christian, in 1929. She was born in 1909 and died on December 24, 1978 in Gladsville Hospital, Gladsville, New South Wales, Australia at the age of 69.

    2. Lillian Edith Violet Caughey, daughter of Sydney Caughey and Edith Mary Potts, was born in 1912 and died on December 30, 1984 at the age of 72. She married Allan Darby Hobson in 1934. He was born in 1913 and died on June 28, 1992 at the age of 79.
