Death of a paternal grandmother | Sarah Jackson 13 June 1927 (aged 21 years) DEATH MRS. W. FARRAR The death of Mrs. W. Farrar, senr. occurred at Rylstone recently. This grand old lady was 85 years of age, and lived in the Rylstone district nearly all her life and her husband predeceased her 11 years ago. Mrs. Farrar had not enjoyed good health for some time, a stroke being the cause of death. The late Messrs. Jake and W. Jackson, Mudgee, were bers. She had a cheerful kindly disposition and was liked by all who knew her. A large family and a number of grand children and great grand children are left to mourn her loss. The late Mr. and Mrs. Farrar lived a great many years at Brymair and were pioneers of the good old type. The deceased lady will be greatly missed by her family for whom the deepest sympathy is expressed. The funeral was largely attended and the grandsons of the deceased acted as pallbearers. The Rev. W. JOHN FARRAR With the passing on Saturday last of Mr. John Farar, the Glen Alice district has lost a long and highly esteemed resident. The late Mr. Farrar, who was aged 86 years, is survived by his wife and family, to whom we extend our deepest sympathy. After a service in the Rylstone Church of England, conducted by Archdeacon Bromhead the remains were interred in the Rylstone Cemetery on Sunday (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 3 August 1950, page 22). |

Farrar The Kandos-Rylstone district lost yet another of its oldest and most respected residents on Saturday, November 14, when Mrs. Maude Harriet Farrar, of 'Warrangee Park,' Bogie, passed away in Natalda Private Hospital, Brookvale, at the age of 86 years. Deceased, who was born at Kelso, was the relict of the late Mr. John Farrar. The remains were brought to Rylstone, where, after a service at the Church of England, the funeral proceeded to the local cemetery, the arrangements being conducted by Mr. N. F. Brown, of Rylstone, in conjunction with Messrs. Gregory and Carr Pty. Ltd., Sydney. The late Mrs. Farrar is survived by a family of three sons and one daughter, viz., Ivan, Albert, Claude and Edith (Mrs. Batterham, Wollongong), also a ber, Mr. Tom Arnold, and two sisters, Mesdames Higham and Saunders.
