Obituary

DR. ARTHUR B. COX. DEATH ANNOUNCED. The death has occurred, at Jersey, Channel Islands, of Dr. Arthur Brooks Cox, son of the late Dr. James C. Cox, and a well-known figure in Sydney for many years. Dr. Arthur Cox, who had lived in retirement in Jersey for some years, was a dental surgeon in Sydney, practising his profession in Macquarie-street. He was also a qualified doctor. His widow was the youngest daughter of the late Mr. Alexander Campbell, of Rosemont, Woollahra, and is a sister of Brigadier General Gerald Campbell, of The Dell, Moss Vale; Mr. Murray Campbell, of Darling Point; and Sir Gordon Campbell, of London. Dr. Cox has left two children - Valerie and Nigel. Mr. Nigel Cox is in the British Navy. Dr. Cox's father, the late Dr. James Cox, was a prominent figure in Sydney, and took an active part in the social and scientific life of the community for many years. One of his daughters, Millicent, married the Earl of Lindsay, who was A.D.C. to the Marquess of Lincolnshire (then Lord Carrington) when the latter was Governor of New South Wales.
