Death of a father | George Douglas Cafe 28 September 1922 (aged 27 years) Death at Ilford The death occurred on Thursday last of Mr. George D. Cafe, of Ilford. He had been ailing for several years. His death was sudden, and was a shock to many of his friends. Sometime during the day he called his son to the bedside and told him he did not feel well. He asked for a drink of water and died immediately. Deceased, who was 72 years of age, lived at Ilford nearly all his life (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Monday 2 October 1922, page 10). |

Death of a brother | Arthur Henry Cafe 10 February 1936 (aged 41 years) Mr. Arthur Henry Cafe AT the age of 61, Mr. Arthur Henry Cafe, of Mudgee, died in the Mudgee District Hospital this morning. A member of a well-known Ilford family, the late Mr. Cafe was employed by the Railways Department and was well known and highly esteemed in both the Mudgee and Ilford districts. He is survived by a wife and family. The funeral will take place tomorrow morning in the Church of England Cemetery at Ilford, and arrangements will be in the hands of Messrs. J. C. Swords and Son (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Monday 10 February 1936, page 7). |
Death of a mother | Rebecca Besant 17 March 1939 (aged 44 years) PERSONAL A number of Kandos residents have suffered bereavements of late. Included in the number are Mr. Stanley Copelin and Mr. Percy Cafe. Mr. Copelin's father died recently at the age of 72, and Mr. Cafe's mother, Mrs. Rebecca Cafe, passed away at her Ilford home in her 84th year (Lithgow Mercury, Thursday 30 March 1939, page 4). Death of a brother | Albert Cafe 29 May 1952 (aged 57 years) DEATH MR. ALBERT CAFE Mr. Albert Cafe, of 52 Lawson Street, Mudgee, collapsed and died on Thursday afternoon on Mr. G. M. Brownhill's property, 'Beaudesert.' A rabbit buyer for the Gulgong freezing works, deceased complained of a pain in the chest while loading rabbits onto his truck with Mr. P. Dykes, of Cullenbone. Born at Bowenfels, deceased had lived in Ilford district for many years and was a well known and respected citizen. Predeceased several years ago by his wife, he leaves to mourn three sons, Ivan and Clive (Ilford) and Athol (Kandos) to whom deepest sympathy is extended.
