RYLSTONE NEWS OBITUARY. MRS. ANN BAYLISS. General regret has been caused by the death, on August 14, of one of the oldest residents of the district, Mrs. Ann Bayliss. Mrs. Bayliss had attained her 87th, year, and after an illness of nine weeks died of senile decay. She was born at Kurrajong, Richmond, and at the age of 13 came to this district where she reared a family of fourteen children, nine of whom are living. Mrs. Bayliss was of a very kindly disposition and gained the esteem of all who knew her. She was an adherent of the Anglican Church to which, in former years, she gave generous support. The children left to mourn her loss are Mr. Arthur Bayliss (Rylstone). Mr. Walter Bayliss (Rawdon), Mrs. J. McDonald (Rylstone), Mr. Herbert Bayliss (Newcastle), Mr. Alfred Bay-liss (Breakfast Creek), Mr. Edward Bayliss (Mudgee), Mr. William Bay-liss (Breakfast Creek), Miss Bayliss (Brymair), and Mr. Sydney Bayliss (Lithgow). Note: DEATH

DEATH AS reported in Thursday's "Guardian," Mr. William Henry Bayliss passed away at his home, Breakfast Creek, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday after several weeks' illness. Deceased had resided in this district practically all his life, being at one time employed at "Rawden" station, and married a Miss O'Reilly from Blayney. To the union three daughters were born, all of whom are now married. The eldest daughter, Mrs. O'Brien, resides at Moss Vale, and the others, Mrs. Andrews and Mrs. McGarrigill, live in the suburbs. "Billy," as deceased was affectionately known throughout the district, was one of a family of 14 children, seven of whom are still living, comprising Messrs. Ted, Herb, Walter, Alf and Syd Bayliss, Miss Lena Bayliss and Mrs. M. McDonald. Crippled from infancy, "Billy" was a remarkably active man and a great worker, for, in addition to taking all sorts of contract bush work, etc., he was a very skilful drover during the latter few years of his life. After a brief service in the Church of England, the remains were interred in the Church of England portion of the Rylstone cemetery. A large attendance of mourners from practically every part of the district was present, and many beautiful floral tokens bore eloquent testimony to the respect in which deceased and the family were held. Rev. G. R. Mathers conducted the services, and the funeral arrangements were in the hands of Mr. J. B. Simpkins. We offer our sincere sympathy to the widow and family in their hour of sorrow.
