Deceased, who resided in Lewis Street, went to a neighbor's home with a parcel of potatoes which he desired to be delivered to his son at Mt. Frome, and while there he had a sudden seizure which terminated fatally. The cause of death was heart failure. The late Mr. Lyons, who was born in Mudgee 75 years ago, resided at Gulgong. He was a man of sterling character, and his sudden passing will be very keenly regretted right throughout the district. He is survived by a widow, three sons, and one daughter, viz: Messrs George and Elijah Lyons (Mudgee), J. T. Lyons (Excelsior), and Mrs. W. Bennett (Gulgong). To the sorrowing ones we extend our sincere sympathy. The funeral took place to the Church of England portion of the Mudgee cemetery on Saturday afternoon, the Rev. Honeysett) in Douro Street on Tuesday last. Deceased, who was the widow of the late Mr. E. Lyons, had reached the great age of 93 years, practically all of which she had spent in Mudgee and district. To the sorrowing members of the family sincere sympathy is extended. The funeral took place to the Church of England portion of the general cemetery on Wednesday, the Rev. G. H. Officer officiating. Mr. Lyons was 76 years of age and was ber-in-law to Mrs. Enid Lyons of Market Street, Mudgee. He was ber to the late Elijah Lyons who predeceased him 11 years ago.
