This aptly sums up the late Mr. Andy Kirkland, who passed away at his residence, 'Oakborough,' Rylstone, on Wednesday, August 26th, aged 84. Marrying a Miss Pickett, the following family were born to the union: Messrs. Alan, Richard, Cliff, Athol (killed in action), Fanny, Olly, May, Essie and Minnie, the majority of whom reside outside this district. A large gathering of friends and relatives of the family attended the funeral on Thursday, when the deceased was laid to rest in the Rylstone General Cemetery (Mudgee Guardian and North Western Representative Monday 31 August 1936, p. 4) |

KIRKLAND A well known and highly respected resident of the Rylstone and Mudgee districts, Mr. Sidney Kirkland, died suddenly at his home at 'Willow Glen,' Rylstone, on October 28 at the age of 72 years. Deceased, who was born at Pyangle, was a son ofMrs. Mary Clare Kirkland and the late Mr. Andrew Kirkland, of 'Oakbourah,' Rylstone. He is survived by his wife, mother, and the following children, viz., Ollie (Mrs. L. Anshaw, Kings wood), Harley, Les. and Ernie (Cassilis), Harold (Rylstone),also bers and sisters, Fanny (Mrs. Marchant, Rylstone), Olive (Mrs. A. Webb, Guildford), May (Mrs. S. Webb, Liverpool), Minnie (Mrs. J. Bolin, Rylstone), Richard (Orange) and Clifton (Rylstone). The funeral, which was largely attended,took place to the Church of England portion of the Rylstone General Cemetery on the Saturday, Rev. Lashford officiating.
