LLOYD - BROWN. The wedding was celebrated recently of Mr. Arthur Lloyd, son of Mr. J. Lloyd, of Coomber, Rylstone, and Miss Mary Brown, daughter of Mr. W. Brown, of Mt. Brace, Rylstone. The ceremony was performed at the residence of the bride's parents. The bride's wedding dress was white silk charmeuse, trimmed with silk insertion and tassels, semi-Empire style, wreath and veil. Her travelling dress was grey cloth, trimmed with blue silk and cream lace. The bridesmaids' (sisters of the bride) dresses were cream Sicilian and cream lace. The bride was given away by her father. Miss Hardwick played the "Wedding March." The happy couple left by train for Bathurst and Orange, where the honeymoon will be spent, thence to their home near Tooraweenah. WEDDING BELLS. BROWN - BATTEN. The wedding was celebrated at Gulgong on Wednesday, June 8, of William, second son of Mr. William Brown, of Mt. Brace, and Minnie, second daughter of Mr. William Batten, of Glenangle. The Rev. Father O'Donnell officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked very pretty in a dress of ivory silk trimmed with silk braid: she wore the usual wreath and veil and a gold bangle, the latter the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. Charles Brown acted as best man, and Miss Laura Batten, sister of the bride, and Miss Alice Brown, sister of the bride-groom, were bridesmaids. Both wore cream voile dresses trimmed with lace and silk braid, with hats to match, and wore gold brooches, gifts of the bridegroom. The wedding breakfast was partaken of at the Royal Hotel, when the usual toasts were honored. The young couple left by the evening train for Sydney, where the honeymoon will be spent. WEDDING BELLS. LEE-BROWN - COURT. On April 2, at St. Albans’ Church, Lindfield, Sydney, the marriage was solemnised of Mr Chas. Lee-Brown, son of Mr and Mrs W. Lee-Brown, Lindfield, and Doris, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs L. A.' Court, Lauceston, Tasmania. The ceremony was conducted by the rector, Rev McDonald, and the music was supplied by the church organist, Mr Taylor. The bride was given away by her bRother-in-!aw, Lieutenant-Commander A Sharp, R.A.N., and looked sweet in a simple but beautiful gown of soft ivory satin and georgette, trimmed with tiniest seed pearls, the train of satin being lined with goffered georgette, and falling from the shoulders. She wore the bridegroom’s gift, a diamond cluster ring. A veil of silk net, and an exquisite shower bouquet completed the toilet. The bridesmaid, Miss Alice Brown, received a string of valuable pearls and also wore a dainty frock of ‘Alice’ blue georgette, black hat, and dark red shower bouquet. Dr John McKee, of Gordon, attended the bridegroom as best man. After the ceremony the guests motored to ‘Invermay’, Roesville, where the bride’s mother entertained at luncheon, the decorations being most artistic, in palest pink and silver. The three-tier cake was the gift of the bridegroom’s sister. Later Mr and Mrs C Lee-Brown left for the Blue Mountains, the bride travelling in a tailored costume of cream woollen gaberdine, with blue and mastic motor hat. THE LATE MR. W. L. BROWN. The death occurred in Sydney on Friday of Mr. W. L. Brown, for many years resident of Rylstone, aged 72 years. Deceased died at his residence at Lindfield, where he had been residing for the past three or four years. He is survived by a wife and the following sons and daughters George, Rylstone; William, Lue: Charles, Adelaide, South Australia: Mesdames Arthur Lloyd, Gulargambone; and the Misses Janet and Alice Brown, Lindfield. ANDREW MORRISON As briefly reported in our last issue, the death occurred in a Sydney hospital on Thursday last of Andrew Morrison, a very old and respected resident of Rylstone district. Deceased, who was 78 years of age, went to Sydney about three weeks ago to seek expert medical advice and treatment. He followed the occupation of farmer and grazier, and had a nice little property on the Olinda road, near Rylstone. His wife predeceased him some years ago. He is survived by the following sons and daughter: Percy (Merriwa), Herbert ( Brogan's Creek), Stanley (Cox's Creek), Cecil (Olinda Road, Rylstone), and Mrs. Norman Dunn (Rylstone district). The body was taken to Rylstone and the funeral took place on Friday to the Church of England portion of the cemetery, the Rev. J. Richards officiating at the graveside. The funeral was largely attended (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 5 February 1931, page 6).
