Deceased had suffered from a heart affection for some time, but his death was totally unexpected, and came as a terrible shock to his people. The late Mr. Cluff resided in the Birriwa district for many years, and carried on farming and grazing pursuits with considerable success. Some time ago he retired from active operations on the land, and made his home in Mudgee. Here he linked up with the Bowling Club, and was one of its most regular and best-liked players. The flag at the club house is flying at half mast today as a mark of respect. Altogether, the late Mr. Cluff was a fine type of citizen, and the district, will be the poorer by his passing. He is survived by a widow, and one son, and three daughters, viz: Reginald (Birriwa), Mrs. H. Schiemer, (Wellington), Mrs. V. Harvey (Glen Alice), and Mrs. S. Davis (Birriwa). To the sorrowing ones sincere sympathy is extended.
