Note: ELIZABETH O'NEAL.

ELIZABETH O'NEAL. There passed away at the Dubbo District Hospital on Friday afternoon, after a painful illness, Elizabeth O'Neal, wife of Mr. W. H. O'Neal, of Gulargambone. Deceased, who was 60 years of age, was one of the most esteemed and highly respected residents of Gulargambone, and universal are the expressions of regret at her death. She leaves a sorrowing husband, four daughters and one son to mourn the loss of a faithful wife and loving mother. The late Mrs. O'Neal was formerly a resident of Mudgee and Rylstone, where she resided for some years. The remains were conveyed to Gulargambone for interment, and were laid to rest in the Methodist portion of the cemetery at that place. The funeral was a large and representative one. Mr. J. R. Tighe carried out the funeral arrangements. Dubbo Liberal, Tuesday 26 November 1918, p. 2. Obituary Elizabeth O’Neal

Note: Warrumbungle.

Warrumbungle. Death of Mrs. O'Neall. Once more has the Grim Reaper paid a call to this locality, and this time has carried off one of the best known and respected residents of this part, in the person of Mrs. W. O'Neall, at the age of 60 years. Mrs. O'Neall had not been too well for some considerable time, and was attended on different occasions by Dr. Hodgkinson, of Coonamble. She was then taken to Dr. Burkett, of Dubbo, who performed an operation on her on Wednesday last. But, alas, despite all medical skill and care, this splendid woman passed away at 12.30 p.m. on Thursday. I understand that a complication of diseases was the cause of death. I am unable to find words to do justice to Mrs. O'Neall. She was of a lovable disposition, and made hosts of friends wherever she went. She was an ideal wife and loving and affectionate mother. She was a thorough Christian woman, and if all her good and kind deeds are rewarded then Heaven's gates should be opened wide to receive her. Mr. and Mrs. O'Neall came to this locality about seven years ago, from Cooyal, near Mudgee, and for five years they were in the employ of Mr. Dowling, of Gumin. Lately they moved to Gulargambone, where they have since resided. The deceased lady leaves her husband, sons and daughters to mourn their great loss. To them the deepest sympathy of the whole community goes out. The remains were brought to Gulargambone for burial, which took place in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends. The Rev. Mr. Clifton officiated at the graveside. All will join me, I am sure, in saying that the Warrumbungle district has lost forever one of the grandest women that ever resided in this small part. May her rest be peaceful. Mudgee Guardian, Thursday 28 November 1918, p. 21. Obituary Elizabeth O’Neal

Note: MR ROBERT POTTS

MR ROBERT POTTS One of the district's oldest and most highly respected residents, in the person of Mr Robert Potts, of Buckaroo, was the victim of a sudden seizure early on Tuesday morning last, and death followed shortly afterwards. Deceased, who was 68 years of age, had resided in the district for a very lengthy period, for from his lime burning works at Buckaroo he supplied material to local and district builders for many years. One of the sturdy pioneer breed, he played well his part in building up the district, and his passing will be deeply deplored by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance.
