GULGONG NEWS EXAMINATION Bankruptcy Court AN examination of the affairs of James Robert Shearman, of Goolma was conducted by Mr. W. F. Britz, P.M., at the Gulgong Bankruptcy Court on Thursday last. Mr. Shearman stated he had not incurred debts in any other name. He had filed his statement of affairs, but found he had omitted one claim in the name of Alfred Gardiner. Mr. J. J. Dowd appeared for Mr. Gardiner, and said that proof of debt was amongst the papers. Continuing, Mr. Shearman said he had not kept books. His bankruptcy was caused owing to the estate of his late father not having been wound up and lack of employment. He would get something out of his father's estate within two or three weeks. DEATHS Susannah Diehm, of Herbert Street, Gulgong, died at her residence last Friday at the age of 92 years. She left a family, James, Florence, Lottie, Phyllis and Audrey. A daughter, Hilda, predeceased her. The funeral took place yesterday, interment being made in the Church of England portion of the Gulgong cemetery, following a service in the Church of England, Gulgong. OBITUARY Mrs. F. S. Ryan With the death of Mrs. Florence Sarah Ryan at the Gulgong District Hospital on June 17, Goolma and the Gulgong district mourned the passing of a well known district identity and member of two pioneering families of Goolma. Mrs. Ryan was a member of the Shearman family and was a well known and respected resident of Goolma, where she lived all her life, raising a family of eight children. Mrs. Ryan was 75 years of age. She married Mr. James E. Ryan in 1914, who predeceased her by 11 years. Mrs. Ryan was a devoted wife and mother and a true country woman who loved the land. Mrs. Ryan was a fine christian woman devoted to her faith, and the overflow congregation at her funeral, attested to the esteem and respect she and her family are held in the community. Mrs. Ryan is survived by five daughters and three sons, Enid, (Mrs. Beacroft, Blacktown); Dola, (Mrs. J. Ballard, Blacktown); Wilma, (Mrs. J. Whale, Goolma); Flo, (Mrs. K. Ryan, Gulgong); and Patricia, (Goolma); Len and Neville, (Goolma) and Jim (Eastlakes). She is survived by three sisters and one brother, they are: Lottie, (Mrs. A. Yeo, Merrygoen); Audrey, (Mrs. R. Yeo, Mendooran); Phyllis, (Mrs. L. Campbell, Gulgong) and James Shearman, Mudgee. After Requiem Mass offered by Rev. Fr. J. Scanlon P.P., the large funeral cortege left the Gulgong Catholic Church on Monday for the interment in the Gulgong Cemetery. Messrs.
