Death of a father | William Thomas Collins 1927 (aged 41 years) Age: 82 OBITUARY. MR. THOS. COLLINS. Mr. Thos. Collins, a very old and respected resident of the Merriwa district, passed away last week at the ripe age of 82 years, and on Friday, Sept. 30, several Cassilis residents journeyed down to pay their last respects. The funeral was one of the largest seen at Merriwa testifying to the esteem in which he was held. The deceased had lived the greater part of his long life in the district and his sterling life won the admiration of all with whom he came in contact. A sad feature connected with his death is the serious illness of his wife, who is 75 years of age, and very little hope of her recovery is held out by her medical adviser. The old couple were devoted to each other and the parting was a serious wrench to the old lady. Mr. W. H. Collins, of Cassilis, and Mr. Fred Collins, of Borambil, two highly-esteemed citizens, are sons of deceased. We extend to the bereaved family our heartfelt sympathy in their sad bereavement.
