The "Western Express," published at Rylstone, in its issue of Friday last, published an account of the death of Mr. J. W. Jackson, one of the oldest residents of the Rylstone district, which occurred on Sunday, 10th instant, at the residence of his youngest son, Mr. Henry Jackson, of Lue Street, Rylstone, at the age of 79. Deceased had been ailing off and on for the past 12 months, and death was due to senile decay. He had resided in the Rylstone district for about 50 years, having carried on the saddle and harness-making trade for many years, and then he entered business as a general storekeeper, besides which he was a successful stock and land owner. He leaves a family consisting of Messrs. Herbert, Henry, Selwyn and Oswald, and Mrs. M. W. Hayward. Maitland Weekly Mercury Saturday 23 July 1921 p. 5

HAYWARD. - November 13th, 1923, at his late residence, "Tiverton," Smith Street, Summer Hill, George Mark Hayward, aged 36 years.

DEATHS: HAYWARD, Maurice William, March 26, 1956, at his residence, Rylstone, dearly beloved husband of Irene Millicent May, and beloved father of Parry, Bill, Cliff, Geoffrey (deceased), Ralph, George, Maurice, Keith, and sister, Olive, aged 81 years (Sydney Morning Herald, Tuesday, March 27, 1956).

Obituary Mr Bill Hayward The death occurred at his home in Roger Street, Kandos, on the night of July 8, of Mr. "Bill" Hayward. Mr. Hayward suffered a heart attack a short time ago, and after treatment in Rylstone District Hospital, went to Sydney for further medical attention. The stroke had left him partly paralysed. He returned home to Kandos on the Sunday previous to his death. The Hayward family belongs to one of the oldest business pioneering families of Rylstone as, with his partner Mr. Sam Benson, Mr. G. M. Hayward (grandfather of the deceased) ran a general store "Hayward and Benson" in the last century. Mr. Hayward leaves a widow and four adult children, besides many near relatives to mourn his death. Obituary Maurice Selwin Hayward The death occurred on November 2, of Maurice Selwin Hayward, of Mellon Street, Rylstone. The deceased was a member of a well known pioneering family of the district. His grandfather, G. M. Hayward, was one of the early businessmen in the town of Rylstone. With his partner, Mr. Sam Benson, they ran a general store in the main street, afterwards kept by Mr. Maurice Hayward, father of the deceased. A wife, two daughters and a son together with a sister, Patty, are left to mourn. Mudgee Guardian Wednesday 15 November 1967 p. 4

Obituary: Irene Millicent May Hayward The death occurred on September 15 at the Mudgee District Hospital of Mrs. Irene Millicent May Hayward aged 88. She is late of Lue Street, Rylstone and was at Pioneer House before her death. Her husband Morris predeceased her and she is survived by one daughter and four sons; Mary and Harold (Cliff), Ralph, George and Keith. Wesley (Bill) and Morris Selwyn are deceased. Funeral left St. James Church of England on September 17 for interment in the Church of England portion of the Rylstone cemetery. Funeral arrangements were by Macquarie Valley Funerals. DEATHS: TOLHURST, Mary Parry (Pat), May 27, 1977, late of 10 Warne Street, Wellington, NSW, beloved wife of James, dearly loved mother of Terry and Vak, Kay and Alan, loving grandmother of their children. Privately cremated (Sydney Morning Herald, Saturday, June 04, 1977, p. 32).
