Death of a maternal grandfather | John Wesley Jackson 10 July 1921 (aged 13 years) The "Western Express," published at Rylstone, in its issue of Friday last, published an account of the death of Mr. J. W. Jackson, one of the oldest residents of the Rylstone district, which occurred on Sunday, 10th instant, at the residence of his youngest son, Mr. Henry Jackson, of Lue Street, Rylstone, at the age of 79. Deceased had been ailing off and on for the past 12 months, and death was due to senile decay. He had resided in the Rylstone district for about 50 years, having carried on the saddle and harness-making trade for many years, and then he entered business as a general storekeeper, besides which he was a successful stock and land owner. Death of a brother | Wesley Mark William Hayward 9 July 1965 (aged 57 years) Obituary Mr Bill Hayward The death occurred at his home in Roger Street, Kandos, on the night of July 8, of Mr. "Bill" Hayward. Mr. Hayward suffered a heart attack a short time ago, and after treatment in Rylstone District Hospital, went to Sydney for further medical attention. The stroke had left him partly paralysed. He returned home to Kandos on the Sunday previous to his death. The Hayward family belongs to one of the oldest business pioneering families of Rylstone as, with his partner Mr. Sam Benson, Mr. G. M. Hayward (grandfather of the deceased) ran a general store "Hayward and Benson" in the last century. Mr. Hayward leaves a widow and four adult children, besides many near relatives to mourn his death. The deceased was a member of a well known pioneering family of the district. His grandfather, G. M. Hayward, was one of the early businessmen in the town of Rylstone. With his partner, Mr. Sam Benson, they ran a general store in the main street, afterwards kept by Mr. Maurice Hayward, father of the deceased. Her husband Morris predeceased her and she is survived by one daughter and four sons; Mary and Harold (Cliff), Ralph, George and Keith. Wesley (Bill) and Morris Selwyn are deceased.
