Death of a paternal grandfather | George Mason 26 May 1913 (aged 7 years) DEATH OF MR. G. MASON. Mr. George Mason, one of the oldest residents, if not the oldest, died on Monday last. The deceased was a splendid type of physical manhood. Until quite recently the old gentleman had enjoyed the best of health, but advancing years compelled him to give up his bush life and come to town. His end was not unexpected. He was 84 years of age at the time of his death. Mudgee Guardian, Thursday 29 May 1913, p. 14. George Mason Obituary |
Death of a paternal grandmother | Ann White 2 October 1915 (aged 9 years) MRS. G. MAS0N. There passed away, at her residence, Melon-street, Rylstone, on the 2nd October, one of the most highly-esteemed residents of the district, in the person of Mrs. George Mason, at the ripe age of 86 years. Her husband predeceased her by two years and five months. The deceased lady was born in Cambridge, England, and arrived in Australia in 1858. She came to the country with her husband, the late George Mason, and settled near Rylstone. She reared a family of five sons and five daughters, of whom eight are living, viz: William (Quirindi), Frederick (Queensland), George (Wollar), Francis (Rylstone), Mrs. J. Mulholland (Rylstone), Mrs. Boyle (Western Australia), Mrs. G. Morrison (Murrumbo) and Mrs. W. F. Muller (Mudgee). The funeral was very largely attended. The remains were interred in the Church of England portion of the Rylstone cemetery, Rev. Harris performing the last sad rites at the graveside. Mudgee Guardian, Monday 11 October 1915, p. 1. Death of a father | Francis Mason 14 April 1951 (aged 44 years) Mr. Francis Mason The death occurred very suddenly on Saturday at his late residence, T.-Tree Flat, Glen Alice Road, of Mr. Francis Mason, aged 78. Deceased, a life-long district resident, was held in very high esteem by all with whom he came in contact. He was predeceased by his wife 9 years ago. The remains were interred in the Rylstone cemetery on Saturday, the last sad rites being performed by Archdeacon Bromhead. To the bereaved family we extend our deepest sympathy. Death of a husband | Wesley Mark William Hayward 9 July 1965 (aged 59 years) Obituary Mr Bill Hayward The death occurred at his home in Roger Street, Kandos, on the night of July 8, of Mr. "Bill" Hayward. Mr. Hayward suffered a heart attack a short time ago, and after treatment in Rylstone District Hospital, went to Sydney for further medical attention. The stroke had left him partly paralysed. He returned home to Kandos on the Sunday previous to his death. The Hayward family belongs to one of the oldest business pioneering families of Rylstone as, with his partner Mr. Sam Benson, Mr. G. M. Hayward (grandfather of the deceased) ran a general store "Hayward and Benson" in the last century. Mr. Hayward leaves a widow and four adult children, besides many near relatives to mourn his death.
