Death of a maternal grandmother | Letitia Bailey 20 April 1943 (aged 26 years) DEATH Mrs. Letitia Carr The death occurred at her home at Hillside, Mudgee, on Tuesday last of Mrs. Letitia Carr at the advanced age of 84 years. Her husband predeceased her by about six years. Deceased resided in the district for a very lengthy period, and in that locality she was held in high regard. She was a kindly hospitable soul and never tired of doing what she could to help anyone in distress. Among those left to mourn are Mrs. W. Cox and Miss Letitia Carr, of Mudgee, and they, together with other sorrowing members of the family, will have the deepest sympathy of all in their sad bereavement. The funeral took place to the Church of England portion of the general cemetery on Wednesday afternoon, the Rev. A. G. Powell performing the last sad rites at the graveside. Messrs. J. C. COX The death occurred at the Mudgee District Hospital yesterday of a very well known district resident, William George Cox, of 109 Horatio Street. Deceased, aged 81 years, was born and bred in Mudgee and was a brother of Percy Cox, an alderman on the Mudgee Municipal Council. He leaves a wife and two sons, Arthur Thomas and Dudley William. The funeral will take place from St. John’s Church of England tomorrow, August 4. Messrs. Eastaugh and Carroll, funeral directors, have charge of the arrangements. She is late of 113 Horatio Street. She is survived by her two sons Arthur and Dudley. Accident | 9 May 1969 (aged 52 years) Accident THREE HURT Three people were taken to the Mudgee Medical Centre following two separate accidents this week. The first of the accidents occurred about 2.55 p.m. on Tuesday. A car driven by Morris Donald Corliss, of Digilah Street, Dunedoo, collided with a car driven by Elizabeth Murdoch, of Cox Street, Mudgee. The collision occurred at the intersection of Cox and Market Streets. Mrs. Murdoch was taken by ambulance to the Medical Centre and was treated for shock and a suspected broken hand. Both cars were extensively damaged. About 10.10 a.m. on Wednesday, a car driven by Betty Norma Cottee, of Horatio Street, collided with a utility driven by Dudley William Cox, of Atkinson Street. His funeral left the Methodist Church yesterday for interment in the Methodist portion of the Mudgee cemetery. Funeral arrangements were by Eastaugh and Carroll.
