SERIOUS ACCIDENT TO MR. McMANUS.

It is with feelings of deepest regret that we have to record a most serious accident, which occurred to Mr. Henry McManus on Friday last. He was felling a tree with two other men at what is known as the Two Mile, when he was struck on the back of the head by a branch, and was rendered unconscious. He was brought into Mrs. Dykes' private hospital on Sunday, and was attended to by Dr. Nickoll. It was found that his skull had been fractured. An operation was performed on him yesterday by Dr. Nickoll. He is still unconscious and there seems to be, but little hope of his recovery. The case is a very sad one as Mr. McManus is only 35 years of age - just in his prime. He is a married man - son-in-law to Mr. Flack. Mudgee Guardian, Monday 15 February 1909, p. 3. We regret to learn that the injuries sustained by Mr. H. McManus of Two Mile Flat, on Friday last, resulted in his death on Tuesday afternoon. Full particulars of the accident appeared in our last issue. Deceased was well known and highly respected. He was only 35 years of age, and was a son of Mrs Williams, of Two Mile Flat, and was a son-in-law of Mr. W. Flack, of Mudgee. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon and was largely attended. Much sympathy is expressed for his widow. Mudgee Guardian, Thursday 18 February 1909, p. 12. Richard McManus Death
