Death. A Rylstone Pioneer. The death occurred at Camboon last week of Mr. Stephen Fenton, aged 81 years. Deceased was one of the pioneer settlers of Rylstone, and by thrift and industry did well. He came to Rylstone district from Bathurst side 50 years ago. He married the eldest sister of Messrs. D. and W. Riches. The widow and a family of eight sons and daughters survive. The large and representative gathering at the funeral testified unmistakably to the great respect of the people for deceased. The interment took place at Camboon in a plot on Mr. Robert Riches' property (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Monday 2 November 1914, p. 1).

GENERAL ITEMS. I regret to report the death of Mr. Fenton, an old resident of Camboon, which took place on Friday from influenza and bronchitis. The remains were interred at Camboon on Sundav (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 22 October 1914, p. 12 ).

DEATH OF MRS. MALVERN. The death occurred at Penshurst, Sydney, recently of Mrs. Rebecca Malvern, wife of Mr. John B. Malvern, a former very old and esteemed resident of Mudgee and Havilah. The deceased, who had attained a good old age, succumbed to pneumonia, supervening on influenza. The late Mrs. Malvern, together with her husband, lived on Havilah estate for nearly 30 years. The following children survive: - Messrs. J. Ryan (stepson), William (Bristowe, Lue), Ellis (Havilah), Harry (Havilah), James and Robert (Sydney), Arthur (Queensland), and Mesdames Vincent (Hurstville), Barton (Havilah), A. DEATHS Mr. John Malvern A very well-known former resident of Mudgee, Mr. John Barker Malvern, died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. J. Vincent, Hurstville, on Sunday night at the age of 93. The deceased spent a great part of his life in the Mudgee district, where he was held in great esteem by all who came in contact with him. Born in Worcestershire, England, he came to Australia as a boy. While still a young man he came to Mudgee and married. He was on the gold diggings in the district for about nine years, and worked at Havilah for 25 years. The late Mr. Malvern was recognised as being one of the best shearers in the district. The deceased is survived by four daughters, six sons and one step-son, all of whom are known in Mudgee. The sons are William (Lue), Ellis (Havilah), Henry (Mudgee), James (Arncliffe), Arthur (Coolah), Robert (Mascot), and Jack Ryan, stepson (Havilah). The daughters are Mrs. S. Vincent (Hurstville), Mrs. J. Barton (Havilah), Mrs. Keech (Concord), and Mrs. Worth (Concord). The funeral took place on Tuesday at Sutherland, and was well attended by friends and relatives.
