Matilda Cornish Death Death at Bundella. In reference to the death notice, which appeared in Monday's " Guardian," the following are the particulars from the Merriwa " Standard ": - " Further particulars are to hand concerning the death of Mrs. H. J. Cornish, which sad event took place at her home, Belle View, Bundella, on 30th August, after an illness of three weeks. The deceased, who was only 19 years of age, was the second daughter (Tillie) of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Lovegrove, of Glenfern, Yarraman, and formerly of Willy Wally. She was of a gentle and affectionate disposition, and was loved by all who knew her. Three weeks previously she contracted rheumatic fever and pneumonia, but owing to her always being so healthy hopes of her recovery were entertained by her relatives. However, on Wednesday morning she passed peacefully away, the immediate cause of death being failure of the heart's action. During her illness she was attended by Dr. Rikard Bell, of Coolah, and also had the services of a trained nurse; but all was of no avail. She leaves a young husband and infant child to mourn their sad loss. The funeral took place at Bundella Church of England cemetery on Friday, 1st Sept., the officiating clergyman being the Rev. H. Hodgson, of Coolah. Many beautiful wreaths were presented by their friends. Great sympathy is expressed for the bereaved husband and relatives. Mudgee Guardian, Thursday 21 September 1905, p. 24. Death of a brother | Christopher A Lovegrove 22 March 1912 (aged 29 years) Death of Mr. Chris. Lovegrove. Speaking of the late Mr. Chris. Lovegrove, whose sad death took place on Friday, 22nd March, the Quirindi "Gazette" says: - It is with sadness that we have to record the death of Chris Lovegrove, son of Mr. James Lovegrove, of Weblands. He was a fine young fellow only 23 years of age, and his death, which took place at the Hospital on Friday was due to pneumonia supervening on typhoid. His earthly remains were laid to rest in the Quirindi cemetery on Saturday afternoon. We understand that one of his sisters is also seriously ill in the hospital with typhoid. Truly the cup of bitterness of the family is full to overflowing, and to Mr. Lovegrove and his sorrowing family the deepest sympathy of the community will be extended. Mr. Chris. Lovegrove was a brother to Mr. Jas. Lovegrove and cousin to Mr. George Lovegrove, both of Coolah. Since the sister was stricken the younger brother Percy has contracted the typhoid, but we are pleased to say that they are improving. Mudgee Guardian, Thursday 11 April 1912, p. 19. The family is well known and highly respected in the district. Before the remains were taken to the cemetery, the body was taken to St. Andrew's C.E., where a short service was held. In the evening the Rev. Wm. Hotston conducted a memorial service in the church, which was draped in black for the occasion. Mr Hotston spoke of the quiet unassuming life of Miss Lovegrove and her devotion to the church, to which she was recently confirmed.
