Death | 2 April 1941 (aged 71 years) Mr. Wm. Carr ON Wednesday last, Mr. William Carr, of Gulgong, formerly of Slapdash, collapsed and died while working in his garden. He was 71 years of age, and was one of the best known and most highly respected residents of the district. The funeral took place to the Catholic portion of the Gulgong Cemetery, Rev. CARR THE recent sudden death of Mr. Wiliam Carr came as a great shock to the community, and spread a gloom over the town. The late Mr. Carr who was 71 years of age, was born at Gulgong, and resided here all his life. For many years he owned and worked a farming and grazing property a few miles from Gulgong, but later retired, and came to town to live. He had a reserved but generous nature, and his many acts of charity and kindness will long be remembered by those who knew him well. He leaves a widow and daughter (Mrs. V. Hill, of Manly) to mourn their loss, also three sisters, Mrs. Gilmore (Coolah ) Mrs. Stitt (Gulgong), and Mrs. Cornish (Sydney). Our sympathy is extended.
