Marriage of a child | John Milligan — Esther Rosanna Chy — View this family 12 February 1907 (0 after death) Orange Blossoms A pretty wedding took place in the RC Church on Tuesday afternoon, the contracting parties being Mr John Milligan, youngest son of Mr John Milligan, of Tong Bong, and Miss Esther Chy, of Mudgee. The bride, who entered the church on the arm ofher bRother, Mr Dan Teong, was dressed in a white Pongee muslin, trimmed with valenciennes lace and insertion, white chiffon sash, and the usual wreath and veil. She wore a gold heart and neck chain, the gift of the bridegroom, and carried anivory-bound prayer book. The bridesmaids were misses Ethel Chy and Milligan. Their dresses were cream mercerised muslin, trimmed with lace and insertion, Miss Chy wearing a pink sash hat, and Miss Milligan blue sash and hat. They both wore goldlucky charms, gifts of the bridegroom. The groomsmen were Messrs John Mumford, and Wm Parker. After the ceremony the wedding party went to the residence of the bride's mother, where between 25 and 30 guests were entertained at the weddingbreakfast, after which Mr P S Garling took photographs of the wedding party. The happy couple left by the evening train to spend their honeymoon in Sydney. The bride's travelling dress was a grey tweed coat and skirt and white silk vest, withwhite hat trimmed with feathers. The presents, amongst which were several cheques, were numerous and useful. |
