The death occurred at Rylstone on Friday morning of Mrs. McAndrew, senr., of Glen Alice. Deceased was 79 years of age (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative (New South Wales : 1890 - 1954), Thursday 9 August 1906, page 16).

Accident 21 May 1909 (aged 27 years)

Note: Accident at Glen Alice.

Accident at Glen Alice. (From our own Correspondent.) A serious accident happened on Friday to Mr. Erwin McAndrew, son of Mr. W. McAndrew, of Emu Swamp. Just exactly how the accident happened it is not possible to say, as no one was with the unfortunate fellow at the time, and he was not discovered for at least some hours after. He was engaged felling trees - clearing a line for fencing - and it is surmised that the tree he had cut down fell into another one, and brought-part of it down on him. Some of his people, being, anxious, went looking for him, and found him about ten o'clock at night. A messenger was at once despatched for a doctor to Rylstone, and on arrival he found very severe injuries to the head. A conveyance was procured, and the injured man was taken this (Saturday) afternoon to Rylstone to obtain constant medical attendance. He was quite unconscious to-day, but it is hoped that medical skill, combined with his robust constitution, will pull him round. News of his improvement will be received with delight by his own and his family's friends, whose name is legion (Lithgow Mercury, Wednesday 26 May 1909, p. 3).

Recovery 3 June 1909 (aged 27 years)

Note: (From our Special).

(From our Special). A CRITICAL CASE. The condition of young McAndrew, the victim of the Glen Alice accident is slightly improved, and there is now every prospect of the doctor pulling him through. It has been a most critical case, and only the most skilful treatment could have brought the patient through the fearful injuries with the hope of ultimately saving his life (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 3 June 1909, p. 13).

The late Mr McAndrew was born at Richmond (N.S.W.) and was educated at Wallerawang, where he spent his boyhood days. He was married at Emu Plains in 1876 to Miss Ann Innes, by the late Rev.
