Rylstone News (By 'Steeltrap.') The Bylong residents have a list out in aid of the Miskle family, who have recently suffered much from a sad family bereavement, and quite a large sum has been collected. It speaks well for the district to find so many in it ready to respond to a call for help (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 17 September 1908, p. 29).

There were (writes a correspondent) many people who had not heard the sad news that Mrs. Margaret Bevitt, of Rawden, had died until after she had been buried. However, the funeral was very largely attended, proving how much Mrs. Bevitt was esteemed by the people of the district. The passing away of Mrs. Bevitt cast a gloom over the district. Mrs. Bevitt died early on Saturday morning at her son's (Mr. Joseph Bevitt's) residence at Rawden, where she had lived for over 27 years. She had been failing for five long months, and was nursed by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Joseph Bevitt (nee Miss Ellen Dykes). The deceased lady was 70 years of age, and was the widow of the late Mr. Joseph Thomas Bevitt, of Penrith. Her husband predeceased her by about 28 years. She leaves a grown-up family of two sons and five daughters, viz.: Messrs. Joseph and Herbert Bevitt, Rawden; Mrs. Miskle, Pinnacle Swamp, Rylstone; Mrs. Mills and Mrs. Freeburn, Penrith ; Mrs. W. Bayliss, Rawden; Mrs. G. Honeysett, Rylstone; one ber, John Bartlett, North Sydney ; and one sister, Mrs. G. Fleetwood, North Sydney; besides a number of grandchildren and great-grand-children. At the time of her death all her family was at her bedside. The remains were interred in the Church of England portion of the Rylstone General Cemetery. The Rev. W. V. Thomson officiated at the graveside. Mr. I. Ferguson had charge of the funeral arrangements (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 27 November 1919, page 9).
