Pitt Mr William Thomas Pitt 82 passed away at his Denison street residence on Friday after a period of ill health. The late Mr Pitt was born at Cudgegong, where he spent the early part of his life. For most of his life, however, he had resided at Mullamuddy. He had been living in Mudgee during the last few years. He was one of the most highly esteemed men in the Mudgee district, and his death will be the cause of widespread regret. A wife and a grown-up family survive. The funeral was held on Saturday morning after Canon Walker had conducted a service at St. John's Church of England, at which he paid a tribute to Mrs and the late Mr Pitt, who had been married 55 years. Canon Walker also officiated at the Mudgee Cemetery, where the burial was carried out by Messrs J. C. Swords and Son (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Monday 28 June 1937, p. 3). |

Powell celebrated the marriage of Nina Gladys, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Pitt, Melrose, Mudgee, and Reginald John, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Parkins, of Mt. Dapper, Gulgong, at St. John's C. of E., Mudgee. The bride, in white angelskin lace over satin with embroidered tulle veil, looked lovely as she entered the church on the arm of her father. She carried a bouquet of frangipanni and tuberoses. Miss Eunice Rayner (cousin of the bride), as bridesmaid, wore blue sheer with a topknot of pink gladioli holding her blue tulle veil in position. She carried a bouquet of gladioli. Mr. Eric (Bill) Parkins (bRother of the groom) carried out the duties of best man. The bride's mother, wearing black sheer with black beading as trimming and a shoulder spray of white frangipanni and roses, assisted by Mrs. Parkins, who chose blue lace for her frock with a pink shoulder spray, received the guests at a reception held at Melrose, the bride's parents' home. Rev. A. G. Powell presided, and the usual toasts were honored. The young couple then left for their honeymoon, to be spent at Manly and Sydney. The bride's travelling frock was of clover jerome with which she wore a black hat and black accessories. Their future home will be at Gulgong. Prior to her marriage, the bride was tendered a gift evening at the home of her parents, where many friends gathered to wish the young people good luck.
