IN MEMORIAM NIPPERESS — In loving memory of our dear mother and mother-in-law, Margaret Nipperess, who departed this life June 19, 1912, aged 82 years. Twelve months have drifted slowly by Since dear mother was taken away, But we will meet her by and bye On the Great Judgment Day. CONFIRMATION SERVICE. A confirmation service was held at 3 p.m., and again the church was filled to overflowing. The following candidates were presented: Clifford Freeburn, Robert Holland, Jack Stewart Wright, Vernon Smede, William Walsh, Walter Ritchie, Richard Holland, Alice Mabel Freeburn, Rita Ann Thompson, Amy Malvern, Waverney Batten, Florence Batten, Ivy Ritchie, Ethel Ritchie, Madge Makepiece, Thora Holland, Ivy Smede, Olive Grace Smede. The bishop preached a beautiful and impressive sermon to the candidates, and in simple words stressed the importance of religion in our lives. He then proceeded with the laying on of hands. DEBT OF £150. The church cost £651 and there is still a debt of £150 to be paid. It is a fine testimony to the skill of the contractor, Mr. Rayner. Thanks must be expressed to the R.C. portion of the community for the help they have given since the commencement of the building fund some years ago. The bishop and Canon Wilton were entertained at lunch by Mr. and Mrs. Harris, of Lue Station. DEATH. MRS D. RICHES. The death occurred at her late residence, Mudgee street, Rylstone, In the early hours of Wednesday morning, October 31, of the late Mrs. D. Riches, a very highly esteemed and respected resident of the Rylstone district. The deceased lady was 78 years of age and spent the greater part of her life in the Rylstone and Mudgee districts. Endowed as she was with a beautiful disposition, the late Mrs. Riches had a large circle of friends, and her life was full of usefulness. She was a true and kind neighbor and a loving mother. She is survived by a large family, six sons and five daughters. David, Lue; Robert, Camboon; William, Rylstone; Jack, Campsie: Albert, Mogo; Herbert, Wallerawang; Mrs. A. McDonald, Mrs. A. Halpln, Mrs. E. Farrar, Mrs. J. Black, and Mrs. O. Wyldes, all of Rylstone. The funeral was conducted the following day, the remains being taken to the Church of England, where a short service was held, and then to the Rylstone General Cemetery, and laid to rest. The Rev. R. Douglas officiated at the graveside, Mr. J. B. Simpkins, of Kandos, conducted the funeral arrangements. To the bereaved relatives the deepest sympathy is extended. Lue Man, 22, Killed in Accident A young Lue man was fatally injured, when his small Ford Escort sedan smashed into a Toyota truck near Lue on Saturday night. Reginald Riches, aged 22 of “Rose Lea”, Lue was driving east on the Lue-Rylstone at 9 p.m. when the driver’s side of his vehicle collided with the truck, about two miles from the Lue township. Police said Riches was killed instantly as a result of the impact. The driver of the truck, Ivan Minchen, Lue Hotel and a passenger, Athol Wheatley, of Lue were subsequently admitted to Mudgee District Hospital suffering from shock and lacerations. Police said both men were in a satisfactory condition. Riches funeral took place today in the Mudgee Cemetery after a service in the Church of England, Mudgee at 11.30 a.m. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Riches, sisters Joyce and Barbara, and bers Ron and Allan.
