Death | 17 August 1908 Death of Mrs. Hawkins. The death occurred in Mudgee on Monday night of Mrs. Ann Hawkins, relict of the late James Hawkins, who passed away about nine years ago. The deceased, who was 79 years of age, had resided in Mudgee for considerably over half a century, and during that time her uprightness of character and cheerful disposition had secured for her the friendship of a large proportion of the inhabitants. She is survived by two sons, Messrs. John and James Hawkins, of Mudgee, and Mesdames Samuel Elliott, of Mudgee River, and C. Probert, of Sydney. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon, the remains being interred in the R.C. portion of the general cemetery (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 20 August 1908, page 15). |
