Death of a father | John Nipperess 18 November 1930 (aged 33 years) Obituary MR. JOHN NIPPERESS One of the most respected and well known identities of the Lue district, Mr. John Nipperess, passed away, on November 17. The late Mr. Nipperess who was 63 years of age, had lived in the district for over 60 years, having arrived with his parents when three years of age. The greater part of his life was spent working on the Havilah and Lue estates. His death came unexpected and was a great shock to all, the cause being a stroke. A widow and the following sons and daughters are left to mourn their great loss: - Charlie (Thirroul), Allen (North Coast), Frank, Leslie, Reginald, Oswald and Andrew (Lue), Mrs R. Minchen (Wilbetree), Mrs. Graham (Sydney) and Mrs. P. Cook (Lue) The Rev. Douglas (Kandos) officiated at the graveside and Mr. W. B. Nipperess, a young man of 33 years of age, succumbed to an attack of double pneumonia. The deceased was very well known and highly esteemed, and had for some considerable time been working on Mr. Combes station. The news of his death was received with regret by a very large circle of friends (Wellington Times, Monday 29 August 1932, page 4). OBITUARY REGINALD HAROLD NIPPERESS A very sad death occurred at Lue on Tuesday, when Mr. Reg. H. Nipperess, a young man of 33 years of age succumbed to an attack of double pneumonia. The deceased was very well known and highly respected and has for some time been working on Mr Combes' station. The news of his death was received with regret by a very large circle of friends. The deceased leaves a wife and three children, the eldest of whom is six years, and the youngest eight months. The greatest sympathy was expressed by the towns-people for the widow in her sad bereavement. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon, the remains being interred in the Church of England portion of the Lue cemetery. There was a very large funeral procession, testifying to the esteem in which the deceased gentleman was held. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. H. J. Dobb, of Mudgee, and the arrangements were in the hands of Mr. J. C. Swords (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 18 August 1932, page 3). |
