Death of Henry Dewey, Senior. Another good old man was buried last Friday, in Mr. Henry Dewey, senior, of Growee, Rylstone. He was well known in pastoral circles as a good, honest, earnest man, and he passed away last week at the age of 73, full of years and honors. Slowly but surely our old men, who laid the foundations of our nation, are being gathered to their fathers (Sydney Stock and Station Journal, Tuesday 22 March 1898, page 3).

MR. THOMAS SHERIDAN Mr. Thomas Sheridan died in Rylstone on Monday last at the ripe old age of about eighty years. Mr. Sheridan was well known and much respected at Tong Bong and Rylstone, having resided there for many years. He leaves a family of two sons and several daughters to mourn: Thomas, Eastwood, Lue: William, Qld ; Mrs. T. W. Taylor, Waterdale, Clandulla; Mrs. R. E. O'Halloran, wife of Mr. R. E. O'Halloran, M.L.A. Sydney, Mrs. R Patterson, and Miss Irene Sheridan, Rylstone. The bereaved wife is a sister of Messrs. Dewey Bros. "Growey," Rylstone, and the late Mr. Michael Sheridan, of Glen Lee, was a ber of the deceased. The remains were interred in the Roman Catholic portion of the Rylstone General Cemetery. Mr. Sheridan's death marks the passing of a fine old pioneer, and his demise was received with profound regret throughout the district (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 14 July 1927, page 14).

MRS. HELEN SHERIDAN, RYLSTONE. On November 4, the death occurred of Mrs. Helen Sheridan, at the residence of her daughter, Miss I. Sheridan, Louee street, Rylstone, at the age of 81 years. Her many acts of kindness, together with her charitable disposition, endeared her to a wide circle of friends. She was one of the early pioneers of the district, being the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dewey, of 'Growee,' Rylstone. She married the late Thomas Sheridan, and reared a family of two sons and four daughters. One daughter, Sister M. Romanus, predeceased her by four months. Her surviving children are: Thomas (Lue), William (Queensland), Ivy (Rylstone), Mrs. Henderson (Cronulla), Mrs. O'Halloran (Glenbrook). She was an exemplary Catholic, and was attended in her last moments by Fathers Ring and Barrow of Kandos. The funeral, which was very largely attended, left St. Malachi's Church, Rylstone, for the cemetery, the Rev. Father Ring officiating at the graveside (Catholic Freeman's Journal, Thursday 17 December 1936, page 36).

OBITUARY. MRS. Ellen Sheridan, relict of the late Thomas Sheridan, passed away at her residence, Rylstone, on Wednesday morning, November 4th, aged 82 years. Deceased was formerly a Miss Dewey, and married Mr. Thos. Sheridan, a widower with three children, residing at 'Eastwood,' a holding between Lue and Rylstone (now occupied by Mr. Tom Sheridan, son) for many years, and after her husband retired from grazing, the pair came into town to live. To the union two sons and four daughters were born. The remains were interred in the R.C. portion of the local cemetery, after a service in the Church on Thursday after noon, many relatives and friends of the family being in attendance (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Monday 9 November 1936, page 5).
