Death of a paternal grandmother | Jane Archer 29 August 1944 DEATHS Mrs. Jane Carr Mrs. Jane Carr, a member of a pioneer district family, died at the residence of her daughter (Mrs. W. G. Marskell), Murragamba, on Tuesday last, aged 84 years. The venerable lady had resided in Mudgee for some time, but quite recently she went to her daughter's home for a short holiday. It was there that she collapsed, and passed away rather suddenly. A fine old character, she was held in the highest regard by all sections of the community, and her death will be universally regretted. She is survived by four sons and three daughters, most of whom are well-known residents of the district, and they will have the deepest sympathy of everyone in their sad bereavement. One son made the supreme sacrifice in the first world war. The funeral took place to the Ulan Church of England cemetery on Wednesday, impressive services being conducted in the church and at the graveside by the Rev. H. W. Ellis, of Gulgong. Messrs. J. C. Swords and Son conducted the arrangements. Mrs. Jane Carr Mrs. Jane Carr, a member of a pioneer district family, died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. W. G.
