DEATH THE death occurred to-day of Mrs M. Maloney, of Gulgowra, Lue, one of the oldest and most highly esteemed residents of the district. A Requiem Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, Mudgee, at 9 a.m. tomorrow, and the funeral will take place at 2 o'clock (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Monday 19 July 1937, page 1).

Kathleen Maloney The death occurred at Mudgee District Hospital on August 17 of Mrs Kathleen Maloney, aged 78. Mrs Maloney was formerly of "Duagh" Lue. She is survived by her husband, Richard, sons John and Norman of Lue and daughter Maria (Sister Maria Anselm). The funeral left St Mary's Catholic Church at 11 am on Thursday after Requiem Mass. Mrs Kathleen Maloney of "Duagh" Lue who died in the Mudgee District Hospital on August 17, had been in poor health for several years. Requiem Mass was celebrated at St Mary's Mudgee by Rev. M. Murphy P.p. Present in the sanctuary were Fr. Leonard Gleeson O.P.M. (a cousin of Mrs Maloney), Fathers Doran and Stanley (Mudgee) Scanlan (Gulgong) Criede (Kandos) Gallagher (South Bathurst) Crotty and Manning (Cathedral - Bathurst). Present at the Mass were Sisters of Mercy from Bathurst. The congregation joined in prayers and hymns of the Requiem Mass and the pupils of the Convent School formed a guard of honour as the funeral cortege moved to Mudgee cemetery. Fr. Murphy was assisted at the graveyard by Fathers Doran and Stanley. Mrs Maloney is survived by her husband Richard, sons John and Norman (Lue), a daughter Marie (Sister Marie Anselm) Convent of Mercy, Mudgee, two daughters-in-law, five granddaughters and a great grandson. A ber James, of Darlinghurst and two sisters, Margaret (Mrs Butler Rose Bay) Cecilia (Mrs Collopy Double Bay) also survive her. Four bers, John, Denis, William and Cornelius and one sister Mary pre-deceased her. (Mudgee Guardian 13th September 1968 p5)

Obituary Notice Richard Charles Maloney The death occurred in the Mudgee District Hospital on Tuesday of Mr. Richard Charles Maloney, aged 79. He is late of 'Duagh', Lue. His wife Cathleen predeceased him and he is survived by two sons John and Norman of Lue and one daughter, Sister Marie Anselm, of Mudgee. Obituary Notice Mr Richard Charles Maloney, of "Duagh", Lue, died recently in the Mudgee District Hospital after a long illness. Mr Maloney was well known in the Lue district where he was born and lived all his life. His wife Kathleen died nine months ago. He is survived by two sons, John ("Keouville", Lue)and Norman ("Gulgowra",Lue)one daughter Marie (Sister Marie) Convent of Mercy Mudgee, and ber Cecil (Mudgee) the only surviving member of the family of thirteen. Father M. Murphy celebrated Requiem Mass in St. Mary's Church Mudgee. The funeral was attended by several visiting Priests and Sisters including a niece, Sister Agatha Rheinberger (Waitara). Many friends and relatives also attended the Mass and funeral. Pupils of St. Matthew's College sang during Mass and formed a guard of honour as the cortege left for the Mudgee Cemetery.
