MR. JOHN FARRAR With the passing on Saturday last of Mr. John Farar, the Glen Alice district has lost a long and highly esteemed resident. The late Mr. Farrar, who was aged 86 years, is survived by his wife and family, to whom we extend our deepest sympathy. After a service in the Rylstone Church of England, conducted by Archdeacon Bromhead the remains were interred in the Rylstone Cemetery on Sunday (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 3 August 1950, page 22).

Obituary Notice Mrs. M. H. Farrar The Kandos-Rylstone district lost yet another of its oldest and most respected residents on Saturday, November 14, when Mrs. Maude Harriet Farrar, of 'Warrangee Park,' Bogie, passed away in Natalda Private Hospital, Brookvale, at the age of 86 years. Deceased, who was born at Kelso, was the relict of the late Mr. John Farrar. The remains were brought to Rylstone, where, after a service at the Church of England, the funeral proceeded to the local cemetery, the arrangements being conducted by Mr. N. F. Brown, of Rylstone, in conjunction with Messrs. Gregory and Carr Pty. Ltd., Sydney. The late Mrs. Farrar is survived by a family of three sons and one daughter, viz., Ivan, Albert, Claude and Edith (Mrs. Batterham, Wollongong), also a ber, Mr. Tom Arnold, and two sisters, Mesdames Higham and Saunders. Obituary: BERTHA GRIMSHAW A link with the past was severed on Wednesday, September 12, with the passing in the early morning of Bertha Charlotte May Grimshaw, 75, of "Valley Apiary," Glen Alice. Deceased had lived for many years in that district and was well known and respected. She left her husband, Thomas, sons, Laurie and Jack, and daughters, Mrs. T. Hook and Mrs. C. Farrar, to mourn. Burial took place at 4 p.m. the following day, after a service at Glen Alice Community Church, in the Glen Alice Cemetery with Rev. Booth officiating. Obituary: THOMAS LEARMONT GRIMSHAW An old identity of Glen Alice passed away last Sunday on his property "Valley Apiary." He was Thomas Learmont Grimshaw, aged 87 years. He came to Glen Alice with his parents at the age of three years and at this time, his father, Charles Grimshaw was a pioneer of the Glen Alice area. During his lifetime, deceased was noted as an outstanding horseman and a very competent shearer when blades were used. He was a keen sportsman and held active interests in the Glen Alice cricket club by holding the position of president until 18 months ago and was trustee of Glen Alice recreation area. In his early years he was a successful apiarist and, as the result of winning a bee keeping competition, he was awarded a queen bee from America, thus starting a new strain of bees in Glen Alice and district. He left two daughters, Violet (Mrs. Claude Farrar), Lilly (Mrs. Hook) and two sons, Laurie and Jack. His wife and eldest son, Les, predeceased him by a short time. To his sorrowing relatives deepest sympathy is extended. The funeral took place at 4 p.m. from Glen Alice Community Church after a service by Rev. J. S. Obituary Violet Farrar The death occurred in St. Ives Church of England Hospital, North Sydney, on September 11, of Violet May Farrar, formerly of the Glen Alice District. Mrs. Farrar was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Grimshaw, and lived most of her life in the Glen Alice District where she was well known and highly respected. She is survived by her husband, Claude, son Derry, a sister Lilly (Mrs. Thomas Hook, of Gunnedah) and bers Laurie and Jack both of Glen Alice, also survive her. Obituary Claude Richard Farrar The death occurred suddenly of Claude Richard Farrar on his property 'Melrose', on August 27. Mr. Farrar is an identity of Rylstone - Bogee. He was born at Rylstone 69 years ago and has lived in the district all his life. His father, Jack Farrar, was also born at Rylstone. Mr. Farrar was active in his younger days in organising cricket and sporting activities, which were held on his father's property, 'Warrangee Park.' Mr. Farrar was interested in community functions and breeding fine wool sheep on his property, 'Melrose.' His wife, Violet, predeceased him 15 years ago. He is survived by his son Derrick.
