Note: Obituary Notice

Obituary Notice Jack Ellis Jack Ellis late of 'Strathgled', Dubbo passed away in Dubbo Base Hospital, on October 2. He was born 75 years ago, the only son of Ray and Mabel Ellis of Appletree Flat. A man of humble beginnings and a humble man all his life Jack was from the Old School where his word was his bond. He was nature's true gentleman. He lived on the land and with the land all his life, first at Appletree Flat, later at Dubbo. He was a true bushman and a great stockman. Jack had two great loves in life. His first love was his family - A devoted husband to his wife Dulcie for 55 years and a caring and loving father to his two children Patricia and Max and loving Pop and great grandpop to his five grandchildren and great grandson. Nothing was ever too good for his family. His second love was his birds and animals. He was a successful breeder of poultry, pigs, Jersey cattle and later in life a most successful breeder of Merino sheep. He successfully exhibited at numerous shows and his many trophies and rugs made from the ribbons he had won will be cherished by his family. Jack will be remembered by his family and many friends not only for his honesty, but perhaps for his quick wit and his great sense of humour and his ability to make others laugh and be happy. He is survived by his wife Dulcie, son Max and his daughter Patricia (Mrs. Ken Keech, Rylstone) his five grandchildren, one great grandson and his sister Nellie Rochester.
