My next note revives old memories of one of the most respected of former Collingwood residents. All the old hands of McDonald's Creek and Merrendee road will remember James Pauling, jun., who died November 15th, 1883, aged 27. Deceased was a good, clean-living lad. His mother, Mary Pauling, died November 30th, 1881, aged 88. It was a fine family the deceased lady reared.
