Death of a paternal grandfather | John Marks 1907 (aged 14 years) Age: 83 Death of an Old Resident. One of this district's oldest residents passed away last night, in the person of Mr. John Marks, at the ripe old age of 83. Though born in England, the late Mr. Marks emigrated to this State 57 years ago, 40 years of which time he was a resident of this district. Deceased had been in failing health for some months past, but it was only on Sunday last that he took to his bed. During the past few years he lived with his son, Mr. James Marks, of McDonald's Creek. Seven sons, three daughters and 36 grandchildren survive deceased. The funeral will take place at noon to-morrow. Death of a father | Edwin Marks 2 April 1938 (aged 45 years) DEATHS Mr. Edwin Marks THE death occurred in the Mud-gee hospital on Saturday evening last of Mr. Edwin Marks, aged 74 years. Deceased, who had been ailing for some time, was a member of a pioneer Mudgee family, and resided in the district practically all his life. He was a man of fine character, and earned the esteem and affection of all with whom he came in contact. To the wife and family the deepest sympathy of the whole district will be extended. Other surviving relatives include Messrs. G. and J. Marks (bers), who are among the best-known of Mudgee's citizens. The body was taken to S. John's Church of England, where a service was conducted by the Rev. J. McAuley, who also officiated at the graveside. Messrs. J. C. Marks THE death occurred at the Mudgee District Hospital on Saturday Night last of Roseanna Mary Marks (77), of Mortimer Street West, Mudgee. Deceased had been ill for some time. The late Mrs. Marks was born in Mudgee, where she had lived all her life, and was one of the McGuinness family. She married Mr. Edwin Marks, who predeceased her by two years. The funeral took place this afternoon in the Church of England portion of the Mudgee Cemetery, the Rev. A. G. Powell officiating. The arrangements were in the hands of Messrs. J. C. Death of a brother | Albert Edward Marks 3 July 1966 (aged 73 years) Death Notice Mr. Albert Edward Marks The death occurred at Kiama on July 3, of Mr. Albert Edward Marks, son of former Mudgee couple and the husband of the former Miss Bessie Knight, also of Mudgee. Mr. Marks’ death followed the recent passing of his ber, Arthur. He is survived by his wife, five sons and three daughters. Mr. A. Reid of “Piambong”, Hargraves, and Mrs. Neilson of Port Macquarie, represented the Knight family at the funeral the following Tuesday.
