Wedding. GREEN - GORRIE. A very pretty wedding was solemnised in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church yesterday afternoon, when the Rev. W. Spence united Annie Elizabeth, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hugh Gorrie, of West End, and John, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Green, of West End, Mudgee. The bride was daintily attired in a robe of cream paillette silk. Miss Effie Gorrie (sister of the bride) acted as bridesmaid, while Misses Edna and Bessie Scifleet were train bearers. Mr. George Gorrie filled the role of best man. The bride was given away by her father. After the ceremony the party ad-journed to the future home of the young couple, where the wedding breakfast was held and the usual toasts proposed and honored. The Rev. W. Spence presided. After the breakfast the party in-dulged in dancing, Misses J. Stod-dart and P. Pauling and Mr. C. Blackman rendering excellent music. Mr. George Gorrie acted as M.C. During the evening Mr. W. Stoddart sang, Miss P. Pauling gave a step dance, and Mr. F. H. Mason entertained with several re-citations. The presents were numerous and costly, amongst them being a handsome set of dessert knives, spoons, and forks, the gift of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Cohen and family, while the Mudgee "Guardian" staff presented the bridegroom with a handsome silver cruet. At 11 p.m. the festivities ceased with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne." The "Guardian" joins with a large number of friends in wishing the young couple every success and happiness in their future married life (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 30 November 1916, page 19).
