DEATHS Mr. C. F. E. Green MR. Charles Frederick Edward Green, well known farmer and grazier of Leaning Oak, near Yarrabin, died on Tuesday at the age of 58. The late Mr. Green is survived by a widow, two daughters and one son. The daughters are Mesdames G. T. Goodman (Kandos) and Garland (Mudgee), and the son is Mr. Alf. (Leaning Oak). There are also two bers, Messrs. John (Mudgee), and Sam (Queensland, formerly of Grattai), and three sisters, Mesdames Ben Whittaker (Collingwood), J. Whittaker (Avisford), and F. McLean (Cudgegong). Mr. Green was born at Leaning Oak, and had lived there all his life. The burial took place yesterday afternoon in the family's private cemetery at Leaning Oak, the service at the graveside being conducted by Rev. L. C. S. Walker. Arrangements were in the hands of Mr. H. Burton (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 25 July 1935, page 3).

DEATHS Mrs. Green Mrs. Lavina Matilda Green, an old identity of Leaning Oak, died at her home in Denison Street on Monday night last, aged 66 years. Her husband predeceased her by 11 years. A kind-hearted, gracious lady, she was held in high regard by a wide circle of devoted friends, who will deeply regret her passing. A family of two sons and one daughter are left to mourn, and they will have the sincere sympathy of the whole countryside. After an impressive service in St. John's Church of England, the funeral took place to the Leaning Oak cemetery on Wednesday, the Rev. Canon Powell officiating on both occasions. Mr. H. Barton had charge of the arrangements (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 25 July 1946, page 2).

LOCAL NEWS The death has occurred at Orange Base Hospital of Mrs. Ellen Gardoll, a much esteemed resident of McLachlan Street, Orange, at the great age of 83 years, the cause of her demise being pneumonia. She was a native of Victoria, but had spent the greater part of her life in the Wellington and Orange districts, where, she was loved by all who knew her and admired for her many sterling qualities. She is survived seven daughters and two sons, viz., Mesdames C. Green (Mudgee), M. Andrew (Rylstione), E. Withers (Sydney), S. Green (Queensland), H. Mason (Wallerawang), J. Flood (Dubbo), Blackall (Orange), Mr. John Gardoll (Gilgandra), and Mr. Arthur Gardoll (Orange) (Gilgandra Weekly and Castlereagh, Thursday 3 December 1936, page 4).
