Death of a sister | Laura Charlotte Smith 14 April 1916 (aged 30 years) Deaths. MRS. W. J. PITT. On Saturday morning last, Mrs. Pitt, wife of Mr. W. J. Pitt, of "Hillside," Mullamuddy, died suddenly after a very brief illness. Deceased was the fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Smith, of Lawson's Creek, and grand-daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Tomkins, of Douro-street, Mudgee. She was very well known and highly respected. Her kindliness and obliging disposition had won her the affection of a large number of people, and her sudden death will be a cause for deep distress. She had been married two and a half years. She leaves a husband and the following bers and sisters to mourn :— Mrs. J. Keech (Tamworth), Mrs. Jack Mills (Lawson's Creek), Minnie, Clarice, Ruby, Zeta, and Dulcey Smith, George (at the front), Abert, Arthur, Charles and Darcy Smith.
