Woman's Strange Death. A woman named Elizabeth Grace Brown, aged 28 years, who resided with her husband, Charles Lee Brown, a returned soldier, is reported to have died suddenly at Allenstown (Rockhampton) under somewhat peculiar circumstances. It is stated that at about 9.45 p.m. on Sunday Mrs. Brown appeared to be in her usual state of health, and, before retiring, went to the bathroom and commenced to cry. Her husband asked her what was the matter, but all she said was, "I am gone." She died almost immediately. Mr. and Mrs. Brown had been married only about five weeks. The deceased was a native of Warwick. A post-mortem examination was held, but the result has not transpired (Glen Innes Examiner, Monday 29 March 1920, page 3).

Bride's Tragic Death, ROCKHAMPTON, March 9. Elizabeth Grace Drown, 23, residing with her husband, Charles Lee Brown, traveller for the National Cash Register Company, died suddenly on Sunday night. The woman, who was a native of Warwick, and had been only five weeks married, had a bath, before retiring, but on coming from the bathroom was crying, and when asked what was the matter, exclaimed, "I'm gone," and fell back on the bed and expired. A. post mortem examination was held, but apparently the cause of death was not ascertained (Telegraph (Brisbane, Qld.), Tuesday 9 March 1920, page 5).
