Note: MR ROBERT POTTS

MR ROBERT POTTS One of the district's oldest and most highly respected residents, in the person of Mr Robert Potts, of Buckaroo, was the victim of a sudden seizure early on Tuesday morning last, and death followed shortly afterwards. Deceased, who was 68 years of age, had resided in the district for a very lengthy period, for from his lime burning works at Buckaroo he supplied material to local and district builders for many years. One of the sturdy pioneer breed, he played well his part in building up the district, and his passing will be deeply deplored by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance. He is survived by a widow and the following sons and daughters:- Raymond (Buckaroo), Reginald (Mudgee), William (Mudgee), Silas (Buckaroo), Mrs S. Caughey (Bathurst), Mrs C. Morgan (Mudgee), Mrs J. Ellis (Sydney), and Miss Sylvia Potts (Buckaroo). To the sorrowing ones the sympathy of the whole district is extended. The funeral took place to the independent portion of the Mudgee cemetery on Wednesday, Mr John Hardy performing the last sad rites at the graveside (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 16 July 1931, page 5).
