Obituary Charles Lancelot Rayner The death occurred on February 26 of Charles Lancelot Rayner 75, of Ryde. A highly respected citizen, he was a native of Mudgee and a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Herbery Rayner. He had not enjoyed good health since he was injured in a street accident a year or so ago. As a young man, Mr. Rayner was a keen sportsman and played as a fullback in the Mudgee “All Blacks” football team. He was also a keen pushbike rider and cricket player. After his retirement, he enjoyed the quieter sport of fishing. By trade he was a carpenter and when he went to Sydney to live he was employed by the Kell and Rigby firm, where he worked until he retired a number of years ago. Mr. Rayner is survived by his wife who was the former Miss Evelyn Williams of Mudgee, three sons, Vincent of Mudgee, Ronald and Lindsay, “Bunty” of Sydney and one daughter Sharon of Sydney, also two sisters Mrs. S. McGrath and Mrs. E. McGowan of Mudgee and one ber Max of Sydney. He was predeceased by his parents and two bers Edgar “Ted” Rayner and Harley “Mick” Rayner. Round-A-Bout With Belle The death occurred in Sydney last week of Mr. Vincent Charles Rayner of West Ryde and formerly of Horatio Street, Mudgee. Only in his early fifties, Vincent Rayner was a very highly respected citizen, but had suffered from much illness in recent years, which subsequently aged him before his time. He was a son of the late Mr. Charles Rayner of West Ryde and a native of Mudgee. Vincent is survived by his mother Mrs. Rayner of West Ryde, sister Sharon, bers Lindsay and Ron, and his aunties (with whom he had spent a great deal of time in recent years) Mrs. S. McGrath and Mrs. E. McGowan of Horatio Street, Mudgee. The funeral took place in the Mudgee Cemetery following a service in St. John’s Anglican Church on January 27.
