DEATHS William Nevell THE death occurred in a private hospital in Mudgee early this morning of William Nevell of Bombira. The late Mr. Nevell was born at Deridgeree in August 1853, and had spent much of his life in the Mudgee district. For many years he lived at Come-by-Chance and later at Tamworth, where he was well known. In later years both he and Mrs. Nevell have lived with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Caughey of Bombira. Deceased was the oldest member of the Nevell family. His death was very sudden and a great shock to all his friends. Mrs. Nevell was, until recently, on the sick list. Before her marriage she was Miss Colless, a daughter of the late Mr. Arthur Colless, of Come by-Chance Station. Our sympathy is extended to the widow and the following children who are left to mourn, viz., Arthur (Tamworth), Mrs. W. Caughey (Bombira, Mudgee), Mrs. Wilson (Come-by-chance), Mrs. Jack Burton (Penrith), and Misses H. Nevell (Tamworth), L. Nevell (Mudgee District Hospital). The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at 2.30 to the Church of England portion of the Mudgee Cemetery, the Rev. A. G. Powell officiating. The arrangements are in the hands of Messrs. J. C. Swords and Son. Mudgee Guardian, Monday 29 July 1940, p. 3. Obituary William Nevell

DEATH Mrs. Louisa Anne Nevell THE sudden death occurred at Penrith yesterday of Mrs. Louisa Anne Nevell, aged 73 years, a very highly respected resident of the Mudgee district. Until three years ago deceased and her husband lived at Tamworth, but then came to live with their daughter, Mrs. W. J. Caughey, of Mudgee. Mr. Nevell died in July of last year. Deceased had been suffering from heart trouble, but of late seemed to be in better health than usual. A few days ago her daughter, Sister Nevell (until recently on the Mudgee District Hospital staff) took her for a short holiday to Penrith. She was just enjoying afternoon tea at her daughter's (Mrs. J. Burton) residence when she suddenly collapsed and expired immediately. The late Mrs. Nevell was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Colless, of Come-by-Chance station. The following children are left to mourn, viz.: Mr. Arthur Nevell (Tamworth), Mesdames W. J. Caughey (Bombira, Mudgee), George Wilson (Come-by-Chance) and John Burton (Penrith), and Sister Nevell and Miss Hilda Nevell (Sydney). To the bereaved we extend our sincere sympathy. The funeral will leave S. John's Church of England for the Mudgee cemetery at 2.30 p.m. tomorrow. Mudgee Guardian, Thursday 12 June 1941, p. 2. Obituary Louisa Anne Nevell
