The marriage was solemnised in Mudgee in 1888, Right Rev. Monsignor O'Donovan being the celebrant. Mr. Allan Mara occupied the chair. The remarks of the chairman were supported by Mr. ClarrieBarton, Mr. Andrew Wiseby, Mr. Andrew Baker, Mr. George Carter, Mr. John O'Brien, and Mr. Edward Gaffney, all of whom referred to the many acts of kindness performed by Mr. and Mrs. Sheehan. Mr. Sheehan feeling responded. Other toasts proposed were those of the children, grandchildren and the ladies, while it was the wish of the speakers and of all present that the aged couple might be spared in health and happiness to celebrate their diamond wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Sheehan have been lifelong residents of the district. Mrs. Sheehan was a member of the well-known and highly-respected Duggan family, of Eurunderee.
