Death of a brother | George Nathanial Mason 11 March 1951 (aged 80 years) PERSONAL Mr. George Nathaniel Mason, of Wollar, died yesterday, and the funeral took place at Wollar after a service at the Church of England, at that centre this morning. Mudgee Guardian, Monday 12 March 1951, p. 1. Funeral George Nathaniel Mason Personal Notes By the death of Mr. George Mason, of Wollar, the district has lost a very worthy citizen. Deceased, settled in the Wollar area upwards of half a century ago, and during that lengthy period was closely associated with many activities of a worthwhile character. Local government affairs interested him, and he served with distinction as a member of Cudgegong Shire Council. Altogether, the late George Mason was a particularly fine character, and it was no wonder he commanded the respect of all classes of the community. He is survived by a family of sons and daughters, to whom sincere sympathy is extended. The funeral took place to the Church of England portion of the Wollar cemetery, Rev. Canon Powell officiating. The arrangements were in the hands of Messrs. Eastaugh and Carroll. The late Mr. George Mason was a member of the Cudgegong Shire Council some years ago, and at yesterday's meeting reference was made to the highly capable way in which he had served the ratepayers. It was decided to forward a message of condolence to the bereaved family. Mudgee Guardian, Thursday 15 March 1951, p. 12. Obituary George Mason |
