Burial of a brother | Cedric Ernest Clarke 5 February 1930 (aged 22 years) MR. C. E. CLARKE. The funeral of Mr. Cedric Ernest Clarke, late accountant, A.B.C. Bank, Katoomba, took place at the Waverley Cemetery on Wednesday. Canon Cakebread officiated at the graveside and a Masonic service was read by Wor. Bro. Schafer of Lodge Cosmopolitan. Ernest Clarke Death OBITUARY MR. E. ("NOBBY") CLARKE Mr. Ernest Clarke, of Ivanhoe Road, Croydon, died on Saturday night at the age of 78. Mr. Clarke was well known in ex-servicemen's, sporting and Masonic circles, and was also well known in the Northern Rivers district. He served in World War I with 50th Battalion and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. Mr. Clarke was an original member of the R.S.L., and served on the league's executive for many years, and was patron of the Wardell Sub Branch for 30 years. He was also a member of the Picton Lakes T.B. Settlement and the Fred Birks Activity League. Other activities included - President of the Returned Soldiers Teachers' Association for 25 years, president of the Public Schools Amateur Athletic Association for 26 years and a former director of the N.S.W.
