Death of a father | John Frederick Schiemer 12 February 1918 (aged 19 years) OBITUARY. It is our painful duty to record the death of Mr. J. Schiemer (of Coolah Bridge), which sad event occurred in the local Hospital on last Tuesday night. The deceased had only been ailing a short while, and the news of his death was a great shock to his large circle of relatives and friends in the district. The deceased was a native of, and had lived in the district all his life. He was 51 years of age, and leaves a widow and nine children to whom we extend our sincerest sympathy. |

ALICE SCHIEMER A well known identity of Hannah's Bridge, in the person of Mrs. Alice Schiemer, passed away in the Coolah Hospital on August 17, aged 80 years. The late Mrs. Schiemer, who before her marriage was Miss Alice Niall, was born in the Coolah district, where she lived all her life. Predeceased by her husband, the late Mr. John Schiemer, some 35 years ago, she is survived by two daughters and six sons, viz., Mrs. Ryan (Hannah's Bridge), Mrs. P. T. Sullivan (Purlewaugh), John (Dunedoo), Vernon, Christopher and Val (Hannah's Bridge), and Arthur and Noel (Hargraves). Interment took place in the Catholic portion of the Coolah cemetery, Rev. Fr. Curran officiating at the graveside. |

Schiemer A respected and well known Dunedoo resident, Mr. John Frederick Schiemer, of Yarrow Street, passed away suddenly on his property on December 30, aged 67 years. He married a Leadville girl and lived in the Mendooran - Dunedoo districts all his life. He was very active in many organisations, including Church affairs until ill health seven years ago forced him to curtail his activity. He was one of the famous Hannah’s Bridge footballers known to many. He is survived by his sorrowing wife and the following son and daughters, Margaret Mary (Sister Margaret Mary), Anne (Mrs. B. Meredith of Caragabal). Maureen (Sister M. Venard), Jennifer (Sister Maria), Zeta (Mrs. T. Murray, of Hamilton, Newcastle), and only son Gregory. Five brothers, Vernie Noel, Val Christie, Arthur and sisters, Kathie (Mrs. C. Ryan of Coolah), Alice (Mrs. Sullivan, Hunters Hill) also survive him. The very largely attended funeral was attended by people from Sydney, Muswellbrook, Caragabal, Hargreaves, Mudgee, Coolah, Merrygoen, Dubbo, Narromine and Perthville, and was held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church Dunedoo on Saturday, January 2.
