Marriage | Edith Marjorie McAndrew — View this family 28 January 1925 SIBLEY - McANDREW. A very pretty wedding took place in the Presbyterian Church, Glen Alice, on Wednesday, January 28, when Edith Marjorie, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George McAndrew, of Glen Alice, was married to Walter John, second son of Mr. and Mrs. James Sibley, of Hargraves. The church was decorated by girl friends of the bride. The Rev. Mr. Riley officiated. Mrs. Erwin McAndrew presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, was gowned in an ivory crepe-de-chene dress with hand-made horse-shoe trimmings, and wore the customary wreath and veil beautifully embossed. She also carried a shower bouquet of white carnations and roses, and wore a gold wristlet watch, the gift of the bridegroom. Miss Ivy McAndrew acted as bridesmaid and was attired in a pretty dress of pale blue silk and wore a gold brooch, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. A. Sibley was best man. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a pair of gold sleeve links. After the ceremony the bride's parents entertained the guests at afternoon tea. Later in the evening the bridal couple left by car for Kempsey where the honey-moon was spent. The bride's travelling dress was navy silk georgette and hat to match (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, Thursday 5 February 1925, p. 6). |
