Narrow Escape | A NARROW ESCAPE. Last Saturday Mrs. Steve Fenton, of Camboon, was in the house, attending to her household duties, when she suddenly missed her little child. The dog was standing near the dam when she went outside, which caused her to see if she was there. When she arrived at the dam she was horrified to find her child in the water, near the edge, and at once pulled her away and ran towards the house, where she met her husband and Mr. Gosper, who hurried to the child's side. Mr. Gosper at once set about restoring the child, and after about three hours work succeeded in his object. Only for the timely effort of Mr. Gosper, the little one must have succumbed. It was a narrow escape. |
