The death occurred at Running Stream last week of Mr. David Brown, a very old and respected resident of the district, at the age of 74. The deceased has left a widow and the following family of grown up sons and daughters: - Mesdames Walter Leighton and J. McKander, and Messrs. Robert, William, Theodore and Herbert Brown. Death of a maternal grandmother | Matilda Fletcher 17 January 1929 (aged 28 years) DEATH OF MRS BROWN Mrs Brown, widow of the late Mr David Brown, died at Mt. Vincent, Running Stream, on Thursday last, aged 81 years. With her husband, who died nine years ago, she resided in that district for over 30 years, and was beloved by all with whom she came in contact. She is survived by the following sons and daughters: - Robert, Herbert, William Theodore (Mt. Vincent), and Mrs W. Leighton (Rylstone), and Mrs Mackander (Mt. Vincent). To the bereaved relatives the deepest sympathy is extended. The funeral, which was very largely attended, took place to the Church of England portion of the Running Stream cemetery on Friday the Rev. Banks, Campsie), Linda (Mrs. H. Morgan, Kandos) and Doris (Mrs. F. Slapp, Kandos), two bers, Robert Brown, (Bylong) and William Brown (Running Stream), thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. To the bereaved deep sympathy is extended. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon following a service at the Church of England, Running Stream, and proceeded to the cemetery at that centre, Father McCartney officiating. Death Notice Walter Leighton Obituary Walter Leighton The death occurred in Orange Hospital on Wednesday, May 9, of Walter Leighton, of Running Stream, at the age of 86. His wife had predeceased him by 2 years and he left three daughters, Eileen, Linda and Doris. Deceased, a highly respected citizen, spent most of his life in Running Stream and district. He was a great cricketer and rifleman and won many trophies for these sports. Whilst in Running Stream, he and his wife worked hard in a charitable capacity and the Church of England and Rylstone District Hospital benefited by this. He moved to Kandos about 1936 to manage the Kandos Dairy Farm till 1944, when he retired and settled in Rodgers Street. The funeral took place after a service at 2 p.m. on Thursday by Rev. L. Winton to the Church of England portion of the Running Stream Cemetery, arrangements being in the hands of Mr. Norman Brown, Funeral Directors, of Rylstone.
