RYLSTONE NEWS (By C. B. Spring). CHAIRS A HAPPY IDEA. A private ceremony connected with the wedding of Mr. C. Grayston and Miss Clarke took place in the School of Arts last week. The chairs and tables in the School of Arts are in such a deplorable condition and have the ricketts in the legs so badly, that someone seems to have hit on the happy idea of purloining good clean chairs from the Memorial Hall for the party's use. New furniture is needed for the School of Arts. Mudgee Guardian, Thursday 28 April 1927, p. 16. Wedding Grayston and Clarke

Note: MRS. C. T. GRAYSTON.

MRS. C. T. GRAYSTON. Mrs. Grayston, wife of Mr. C. T. Grayston, of "Maycoral," Bylong, died in the Rylstone Hospital on Friday night, September 12 after an illness extending over about a fortnight. Deceased, who was formerly Miss Catherine Thew, had resided in the district practically all her life, and her many lovable qualities had endeared her to all classes of the community. An impressive service was held in the Rylstone Church of England yesterday afternoon, after which the funeral moved to the general cemetery in that town, friends from far and near being in attendance to pay their last sad tribute of respect to one who was held so dear. She is survived by a sorrowing husband, one son (Charles Robert, Bylong) and four daughters, viz.: Mrs. R. Dunn (Bylong), Mrs. Taylor (Growee, Rylstone), Mrs. J. Masters (Rylstone), and Miss Lily Grayston (Bylong). Deceased's mother, who is 97 years of age, and a sister (Mrs. F. Halloran, Rylstone) are also left to mourn. To the bereaved ones the deepest sympathy is extended. Mudgee Guardian, Monday 15 September 1930, p. 5. Obituary Catherine Grayston

LATE MRS KING

AS briefly stated in our last issue, Mrs. King, a lifelong resident of the Rylstone district, passed away at her son's residence on Monday week, after an illness of many weeks. Deceased had been twice married, her first husband being a retired seafaring man, Captain Grayston, and to this union one son was born, Mr. Chas. Grayston, of Bylong. After the death of her first husband, deceased married Mr. William King, and for many years they lived at Narrango, on the site where Mr. Dave King now resides. To this union a large family of boys and one daughter (Mary, deceased) was born, and the majority of the family live in and around the Rylstone district at the present time, amongst them being Messrs Frank, Dave, Arthur, Herbert, Athol, Stanley and Harold, Henry (Mudgee), whilst William and Albert are deceased. Deceased had the misfortune to break a leg some weeks prior to her demise, and doubtless this accident, allied to her great age (80), was a contributing factor to her death. To the family we extend sympathy in their bereavement. Mudgee Guardian, Thursday 1 November 1934, p. 18. Louisa King Obituary
