DEATH

MR PARKINS, SENR.

It is with extreme regret, we announce the death of Mr Parkins, Senr., of Breakfast Creek, who passed away at his son-in-law's residence on Monday morning, after taking a paralytic stroke. Deceased had reached the ripe old age of 83 years, the majority of which had been spent in this district, where he was very well and popularly known. Mr Parkins, although he had long passed the allotted span of three score years and ten, preserved his faculties right up till the day of his death,and could read the paper without the aid of glasses. He had a wonderful memory, and could tell some startling tales of the early days. He leaves a grown-up family to mourn their loss, amongst them being Mr Sam Parkins, Mrs W. Monks, and Mrs W.Freeburn, the latter's home being where the deceased resided at the time of his demise. (Mudgee Guardian and North Western Representative Thursday 17 September 1931, p. 14)

Rylstone-Kandos News Deepest sympathy is extended to the family of the late Mrs. R. Freeburn, of Louee Street, Rylstone, who died on Sunday morning in the Rylstone District Hospital. She is survived by three daughters, May (Mrs. Cooper, Rylstone), Joyce (Mrs. Christerson, Mudgee), Betty (Kandos), one son, Cliff (Rylstone), two granddaughters and two grandsons. The late Mrs. Freeburn lived in Rylstone for many years. Her husband predeceased her many years ago. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon. Mudgee Guardian Friday 26 September 1969, p. 6.
